HIT-NOT® Add Auto-Slow Capability

Add Auto-Slow to an existing HIT-NOT® system

  • Customers often want their forklifts to have the capability to be limited to a slow or very slow speed in potentially dangerous situations.  A few companies significantly limit speed all the time and accept the reduction in production.
  • Having an auto-slow capability assures that detection of a nearby pedestrian or other forklift results in an immediate response, not dependent upon the reaction time of the operator.
  • Ideally, forklifts would have an appropriate limited speed when there is risk of a hazardous collision but would operate at higher speed when there is great confidence that collisions will not occur because pedestrians and forklifts are known to be well separated.
  • HIT-NOT® provides signals through a standard Deutch connector to be used to limit forklifts to a slow or very slow speed.  It is crucial that the detection system make immediate decisions, not depending upon complex calculations which sometimes can be slowed by various factors.
  • Making quick, reliable decisions at a safe distance in a warehouse requires being able to see through the stored products that surround both forklifts and pedestrians.
  • Forklift OEMs can plug into this connector to receive discrete signals from HIT-NOT to implement limits on forklift speeds when HIT-NOT determines there are pedestrians or other forklifts within range.
  • Third-party suppliers, such as SSC, can plug into the HIT-NOT Deutch connector and limit the speed of a forklift to produce similar results.
  • HIT-NOT® architecture provides devices to minimize or eliminate nuisance alarms that can cause unnecessary, highly undesirable automatic slow speeds in congested areas such as at docks.

True See-Through Detection Technology

Magnetic pulse technology creates a stable magnetic field that passes through racks, walls, and loads. This enables true See-Through Detection, allowing the system to maintain consistent detection zones without the interference, false readings, or dead zones caused by signal reflection.
