- A Structure Monitor is a small device that can be attached to any structure or critical item to warn forklifts to avoid impact.
- Operators are warned before the structure is hit, regardless of the direction that they approach the structure.
- If forklifts are configured for external control inputs or an auto-slow system is incorporated, the forklift can be automatically slowed or stopped before impact.
- These devices are often located at pass-throughs between sections of the facility.
- Before a forklift cautiously goes through the opening, pedestrians or operators on the other side of the opening will be alerted even though they are not visible.
- Stay-out zones can be approached from any direction and the forklift operators will be alerted and the forklift will be slowed if that feature has been included.
