USE HIT-NOT® to reduce the risk when exiting aisles in vna warehouses and facilities
- Exiting a VNA Aisle into a roadway is especially dangerous because other forklifts or pedestrians may already be in the roadway.
- With fully loaded racks, it is not possible to see forklifts or pedestrians in the roadway.
- If full use is made of the storage racks, there will typically be items stored in the racks, all the way to the end. Some managers restrict usage of one or two layers of the storage racks to allow an operator or AI camera to see pedestrians or other forklifts in the roadway. HIT-NOT sees through items stored in the racks, using more rack capacity.
- Mirrors or other passive devices can help but are not always effective, because payloads on the forks block view by the operator and there are no alerts to better gain attention of the operator.
- The interaction between the forklift in the aisle and the one in the roadway is managed by predetermined “Rules of the Road”, implemented by the HIT-NOT systems.
- Another danger is that, occasionally, an operator does not realize the forklift has reached the end of the aisle. There have been cases where the forklift has driven across the roadway, hitting objects and personnel. HIT-NOT® End of Aisle Markers ensures that the system will alert the operator and/or slow the exiting forklift.
